Homeowner thwarts burglary attempt

HERNDON –Burglars tried to enter an occupied in Jordan Township, Northumberland County. State police say someone entered an unlocked porch door to get into a home on Hooflander Road early Friday morning.   While inside the porch, a screen door was broken and the front door was damaged.  The homeowner woke up and came downstairs and the suspect fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle.  Damage was estimated at $200.  Anyone with information on the incident around 2 a.m. Friday is asked to call state police.  (Ali Stevens) Follow
